Network Security Expert
After a few months of of life changes including my first home purchase, getting engaged, soon to be married and focusing in on project's at work, I finally have set aside some time to study again. Looking forward to getting my next exam done and continuing to learn new things. Upcoming soon is my dive in Cybersecurity certifications, ejPT will be MINE!
Neil Barrett's, Traces of Guilt
Neil Barrett's "Traces of Guilt", was a fun a read as someone who enjoyed watch Gil Grissom in CSI led his team to success in solving murders. Throughout its 14 chapters, Neil, takes through his early career in 1996 to 2003. We see the evolution of computer hacker persona from a hobbyist that could not be prosecuted to the ability to be tried as a terrorist after 9/11. Neil, shows us the trials and tribulations of convicting pedophiles, robbers and estranged lovers. He teaches us how to maintain evidence, and how not to. While not filled with extensive details or methodologies, this book teaches the theory and craft of being a computer forensic investigator.
The Next Steps...
Its the end of March! I've managed to finally close on my first home and proud of my accomplishment. Ever since I have aligned the lawyers, bankers, and sellers on the same page, it has been smooth sailing. This allowed me to free up time and thoughts to focus on further goals. I've decided, due to recent events for later discussion(Great News), to focus on my eJPT. I bought the vouchers and planning to take it as soon as I feel comfortable, aiming for early May. My methodology for studying is to review INE's training material, do the Jr Pentester boxes on TryHackMe and use ITProTV/Youtube as background filler to engross myself in knowledge. I've also been reading Sandworm by Andy Greenburg. I've blitzkrieg'd through the first 200 pages in a week and plan to finish it today if not this week!
Cheers to great April!
