Onward to 2022!
Last Month of 2021! And I am writing this with less than an hour left of 2021! December was a month of productivity at work and a week long vacation. The vacation prevent large project from moving forward, but small gains were made on many issues that plague my daily work life. General wire clean up and organization is coming together. I am understanding the flow of data throughout the multiple locations much better than I was 6 months when I started. I can now confidently speak up to solutions, and have been working on improving the infrastructure daily. I began focusing more on my certifications again. I am planning to complete the NSE 4 this month and the CCNP by the wedding if possible. To achieve this, I am using a Clever Fox planner to encourage growth throughout the year.
Log4j was an interesting event to work through. Almost every application and networking device we had, had a vulnerability. Fortinet was great at releasing a definition update quickly, however they forgot to auto enable the Deny function of the definition. I had to remote in from my vacation 2000miles away to fix this. Later on, I got to develop and test a full Log4shell attack against our infrastructure. Finally, I complete the Advent of Cyber 3 by TryHackMe and had a great time. There was only a single CTF/room that I did not enjoy. In January I plan to complete my NSE4 and finish reading the "The Pentester Blueprint" by Kim Crawley and Phillip Wylie. Cheers to an epic 2022! See you on the other side!
